SG1 TEAMS HEAD TO REGIONALS
As the youth soccer season approaches its most competitive stage, SG1 Soccer Club is proud to announce that five of its teams have qualified for major out-of-state tournaments, representing the club in regional and national competition.
Four teams — the 2006/2007 Girls, 2011 Girls, 2010 Boys, and 2011 Boys — are headed to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to compete in National Cup — South Central Cup Regionals in June. These squads earned their spots after becoming finalists at the Open Cup, strong showings in state-level play, and consistent commitment to development.
Meanwhile, the 2012 Boys were crowned the Open Cup champions and are now preparing to travel to Denver, Colorado, for the National Cup Finals, an even greater achievement that puts them on the national stage with some of the best teams in the country. Their qualification is a reflection of a remarkable season filled with resilience, tactical discipline, and team chemistry that has made them a standout.
For the players, these upcoming competitions are the culmination of months of dedication to training, nutrition, mental preparation, and team bonding. Traveling to Tulsa and Colorado isn’t just a road trip; it’s an opportunity to test their skills against top-tier opposition and experience the game on a bigger stage.
Beyond the physical preparation, the tournaments offer young athletes a unique chance to develop maturity, leadership, and sportsmanship—qualities that SG1 prioritizes as part of its club culture.
As they head into the next chapter of their seasons, all five SG1 teams carry with them the support of their coaches, peers, and the wider SG1 community. Regardless of the outcomes, their presence at Regionals and Nationals is already a major accomplishment and a source of pride for everyone involved in the club.
SG1 would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the players, coaches, and families whose time, energy, and passion have made this possible. The club also wishes the teams the very best of luck as they take the SG1 name onto the national and regional stage.
Play hard, stay united, and enjoy every moment of the journey.
