organization announcement - director of coaching

Dear SG1 Soccer Club Family,

As we enter our second decade of existence as a club, I am proud of all that we have accomplished in terms of a positive effect on our soccer community. Every year we strive to improve and although we are far from perfect, I am convinced that with each passing season we become a better club.  I am thankful and grateful to all of you (Players, Parents, Families, Staff, Coaches) for the confidence and support you have given SG1 and which without we would not be here today.

There are many individuals who have been key in the growth and development of the club.  One of them has been Coach Adam Girdlestone.  Adam has given his all for the club and I would like to thank him for his effort, professionalism and dedication.  Adam and I recently had several conversations and we both agreed that there should be a change in his role at the club, not for any negative reasons but mainly for his professional and personal growth.

Thus, I am proud to announce that our new Director of Coaching will be Coach Eugenio de Obeso.  Coach Eugenio has been with the club for 7 years, he was previously our Boys Competitive Director and has an extensive background on and off the field both here in the United States as well as in Mexico. Coach Eugenio is well versed in the details of our programs, competitions, coaching staff and virtually all other facets of the clubs on the field organization and he is the right person for the position at this time in our development.

Coach Adam will remain with the club in another role and we will continue to benefit from his knowledge and experience.  Coach Adam will also work closely alongside Coach Eugenio in order to ensure a smooth transition and more importantly our principles and philosophies remain unchanged.  Having a positive impact in the lives of all of our members, creating a safe and challenging soccer environment for players, coaches, staff and families and influencing our soccer culture in a positive way, continues to be our mandate.

I encourage all of you to reach out to Coach Eugenio and Coach Adam to thank them for their hard work and dedication.  Change is part of life and as we enter a new chapter in our history, I am confident that we are headed in the right direction.  The road will no doubt be full of obstacles and challenges, but we are in a great position to face and overcome them.

Thank you for your indulgence, support and dedication.

Regards,

Alex R. Parra
